What are the best potties?

We are looking at buying a potty for our DS who is curious about potty learning. What are the best potties?

I think the best one is one your toddler will use!

I personally don't like the big cartoony ones that look more like a toy than a potty. I like the plain simple Ikea ones as they're small and cheap!

Baby Bjorn, IMO. They are super durable, very easy to clean and simple in design. DD has used the Little Potty for a long time (we now keep it in the trunk for when on the go). And, the Baby Bjorn Potty Seat (an insert for a regular toilet) is used at home along with the Baby Bjorn Safe Step Stool.

Baby Bjorn for the reasons listed above.
..Between my kids & friends, I've supervised toddler/preschooler potty-going on at least 7 different kinds of kiddo potties, and the BB is my fave hands down. If you have a boy, essp, because there is no place for them to accidentally pee through the cracks and would be very very difficult (prob involving gymnastics of some sort ) to pee over the front edge by accident.

i don't know a good one yet but i can tell you the one i got at target, safety first brand, sucks. it has some kind of step stool feature that makes it impossible to close and hurts dd's little legs when she sits on it....not helping!
good luck!

EXACTLY. Do NOT even slightly consider this one.

I like our baby bjorn little potty and the ikea ones equally. The baby bjorn was about $20.. the ikea $3.

OMG, I completely agree with the "Safety 1st" stinks rant. A good friend has that one and it is HORRID. The seat always is damp, and stinky, and the lid always comes crashing down on DS's back when he sits down because the potty bumps against the wall behind him and the lid isn't flush against the wall when it is up. It also just has too many parts to it to possibly keep clean.

The Baby Bjorn with the insert is fabulous. My son will pick that one every time if given the choice.

We have the little Ikea potty. Super cheap and dd loves it. She carries it around the house with her so it is close by. I should have bought a bunch of them just to have around, but I didn't think we would be potty training already!

Another vote for Baby Bjorn!! They are perfection. LOL!

But, like someone else said, the best potty is the one your toddler is comfortable using. Perhaps you could pick it out together?

when she isn't using the toilet, my 23 mo old likes this one: http://www.babybjorn.com/en/American...N-Potty-Chair/
and i like that it has an insert for easier poop clean up.

We like the Ikea potty, and they are cheap enough to have one upstairs and one downstairs

We have this potty and love it. It's great for a boy or girl (almost impossible to pee over the eyes) and DS loves it!

I really wanted to steer away from the ones with multiple parts as I KNEW ds would take it apart and strew it around the house. I got one baby bjorn little potty and one Ikea potty. He likes them both and so do I. He is a tall 2 1/2 year old and doesn't find them too short for him. I would recommend either although the Ikea one is much cheaper. I also bought a toilet seat insert which he doesn't use. He prefers to just hoist himself onto the big toilet and hang on. He likes the 'I do it myself' factor.
