I accidentally left all of my milk from the fridge out on the counter for 1 1/2 hours. It had never been frozen or warmed. It was still cool, but not cold, I put it back in the fridge. Is it ok to use?
I would stick it back into the back of the fridge and not worry about it, but I have absolutely nothing to back me up on that... If milk at room temp (never cooled) is good anywhere from 4-10 hours, then I can't imagine that milk that has been cooled and is left for 1.5 hours would go bad.
Ive used breastmilk that has been at room temp for almost 10 hrs before, no probs. Breastmilk has antibacterial properties. You can 'Google' studies that show 'no significant bacterial growth' after many, many hours!
So yep, no hesitation here, id use it in a heartbeat!
It was only out for 1 1/2 hours? It should be fine to use, and might actually have less of a bacterial load than when it was just pumped (there have been studies showing that breastmilk stored at room temp for 8 hours had less of a bacterial load than breastmilk that had been freshly pumped-- sorry, no link, and wiggly baby on my lap doesn't want me to Google). So, yeah, what bubbamummy wrote!
