I have been taking my almost 6 mo old son to a pediatric chiro weekly for the past two weeks. He is being taken there because he has tight shoulder muscles which is hampering him in his rolling over ability on one side and I thought it would compliment his weekly physical therapy he is getting. He was a preemie, born a month early.
I'm curious what your chiro actually does to your baby during treatments, as it just doesn't seem like that much is done during a visit, so I just want to compare, as I wouldn't know any better.
She uses a device that is like a small jack hammer ("percussor") on his tight muscles that has a very mild pulsation (so mild that I wonder how it even does anything) and then a pulsating massage device on his back. Then, she puts her finger on the roof of his mouth and presses upward. That is supposed to affect the pituitary gland.
She also uses kinesiology, if anyone is familiar with that, using my arm strength to assess any weaknesses in the baby.
