My dog won't stop trying to lick the baby!

I don't know what to do with my 3 year old Lab! She's a very affectionate girl, but very stubborn. She keeps trying to lick my 6 month old whenever she can - gross! He's not crawling and I wear him most of the day, so she can't get to him much, fortunately. Mostly it happens when I spread out a blanket on the floor so we can sit and play with toys. I have tried telling her "no kisses!" and pushing her away when she licks, and then telling her "good girl!" when she sits quietly without licking him. I'm pretty sure she knows she's not supposed to lick him, but she's stubborn. I'm worried that once he's more mobile, she won't get out of his face! Any ideas? Thanks!

I gave up when ds would crawl over to the dog, open his mouth & let her lick him & then laugh & laugh. Eh, there are worse things!

Yep, my dog who NEVER gives kisses would french kiss my little guy all the time. My DS thought is was the funniest thing ever. What I noticed is that my dog LOVED the taste and smell of breast milk. If my little guy ever spit up then the dog was right over licking it up (yes, totally gross I know).

Maybe if you make sure to wash you little one's face with soap before floor time?
Or if you are very opposed to it, just seperate the dog when you guys are playing on the floor.
