I want to knit a dress for DD. I don't really want to splurge for the more expensive reccommended yarn but, I still want the dress to look perfect.

I feel like everyone always says this when these things come up, but are you on Ravelry? There's probably a dozen people who have made each of those yarn substitutions, you could check out their pics.

Or you could tell us the pattern and we could look it up and give you more detailed opinions.

KnitPicks is a great resource for substitution. Those are both really nice yarns, and I honestly think that careful swatching and blocking will do more to getting you a "perfect" end result than the recommended yarn in 90% of cases.

I have used Gloss Lace yarn and loved it.

I agree with the Rav suggestion. Go search the yarn on Rav and you can see all the projects made with it and check out the comments.
