My DS has been a little rashy lately, so I'm trying to let him go coverless as much as possible when we're at home. However, I am normally a snappi user, which I know you're not supposed to use coverless. But I'm TERRIBLE with pins. I end up pricking my fingers all the time.

Can anyone give me tips on using pins?

Cover a bar of soap with a simple piece of fabric, and stick the pins in there when you aren't using them. They'll slide through the cloth far more easily- less resistance- fewer pricks.
I had a pin issue as well, but I have found that I really like them on bigger babies since they are pretty toddler proof.

All the above, plus... what kind of pins are you using? We were using cheap plastic-head pins that were actually part of a game at the baby shower my friends threw me... imagine our surprise when we got good Dritz locking metal-head pins and they just slid through the diapers LIKE BUTTAH.
But still, there's been a learning curve. And I have to say, both DH and are are pretty darn good at it at this point. Used to be a royal finger-stabbing mess 'round these parts, though.

). The bar of soap works great, as does running them along your scalp before pinning. Do you have good, all metal pins?
