What's your favorite venison recipe?

We just got some venison from DP's parents and I'm looking for good TF friendly recipes. The ones in NT aren't appealing to me. Got any?

What kind of cuts did you get?

I'm not sure FIL cut a tenderloin out of a big piece and gave us the rest. He called them roasts. I've got about 4 pounds worth.

I take a big hunk of venison & put it in a big stock pot. Then I fill with water, add a strip or two of kombu & simmer until the meat is cooked through. Then I remove it from the pot & pick off all of the meat (if there's a bone.) Then I add the bone/s back in & simmer for a while with a splash of ACV. Remove bone/s, add meat back in, Celtic salt, fresh garlic, onion, collards/kale/chard, chopped carrots, garam masala & crushed red pepper.

Yum! We're getting some roasts from a good friend of mine this week and I can't wait to try some things!

I just treat it like beef... mostly I make it into stir fries & fajitas lately. But we also like it as shish-ka-bobs, in curry or even just as steaks

Venison stew is the BEST!! Much better than beef!

I've canned 1 full deer already (got about 20 quart jars), and I have another to can as well. Hopefully I get the same # of jars, as everyone LOVES canned venison! It's so tender & juicy, and it's already cooked, which cuts down on cooking time dramatically.

Good tomato based stew.
Chunk and stirfry the venison.
Boil the veggies separately until tender.
(don't forget some green beans)
add in the meat, 3 cans tomato sauce
spices
bring mixture to a boil. Reduce heat. Simmer 10 minutes.
