Low Carb and Nursing

Hi! DD is almost 9 months, and I am having a terrible time trying to lose my pregnancy weight, I am still up about 20 pounds.

I had great luck with South Beach diet before, I was thinking of going back on it. I was trying to find any information on low carb and nursing, does anyone have any experience?

I, too, had great sucess with a low carb diet before nursing. However, I read a lot of stories about people losing supply and decided to go with Weight Watchers since they have a plan for breastfeeding mothers. I've been having sucess with it too!

I have been doing south beach while nursing but you need to be very conscious that you are not feeling hungry at all because it's easy to undereat on south beach. I am doing a modified phase one where I eat one carb food at dinner to help boost my overall calories. Of course I make it a sb approved carb.

I say go for it and just watch your supply if you notice a decrease eat a little more and see how it goes.
