Heavy Wetting Overnight Preschooler

Help! It's been a long time since I've been here in diapering, but I know you all can help me. My almost-six-year-old son is currently in size 6 Huggies overnights. (I used to be an exclusive CDer but am not currently). Four nights a week or so, he is peeing out the top of the diaper and all over his sheets and blanket. I am so tired of washing bedding! We have cut back on his fluid intake, we of course point his penis down when we put the diaper on, we are waking him up two hours after he goes to bed to potty him, we even tried tucking a washcloth inside the top of the diaper. I am wondering if there might be a good cloth solution instead of the Huggies. Ideas? Thanks!

Maybe I'll just Google, but I'd sure love a rec! Last night was very messy!

I'm not sure what to tell you. When I had this problem overnight, someone suggested to me to just move them up a diaper size for overnights, but this was when mine were babes. Sorry I couldn't be more help.

My 7 1/2 year old is a bed wetter and the only thing that works for him are "Good Nights" (not the boxer ones)... we have tried everything, cloth etc.. but nothing else works well and doesn't leak...

For him, the problem is nothing more than he sleeps too deeply, we can't even wake him up before we go to bed because he is like a ragdoll...

A wool cover would help absorb the pee. Check out diaperswappers. Put it over the pull-up.

Also, a large Blueberry minky trainer might work. My son does leak sometimes when wearing it.

I've been meaning to try Apple Dumplings custom trainers for my son, but haven't yet.

My 6yo son wears Pampers UnderJams as I cannot find a cloth solution that works and is large enough. If he leaked in those I'd probably try an Aristocrats soaker in L on top. Try searching this forum for previous answers.

My 6 yr. old is a bedwetter. We have a few diapers that all work for him:
1 XL Happy Heinys, stuffed with a prefold and a microfiber towel
1 XL Bummis cover stuffed with the same
1 L Happy Heinys trainer (the XXL goes up to 80 lbs)

The HH trainer is his favorite but they all work and keep the sheets dry.

We have a different situation since we ec - but dd was always a heavy wetter overnight, even when she was dry all day and for naps. When she was 2.5yo, we started giving her magnesium, and suddenly she started letting me know when she needs to pee rather than doing it while fast asleep. Now I can tell how much mag she needs based on whether or not she stays dry overnight

A friend just recommended these to me. I had assumed that since they look like PullUps they absorb like them, which is to say not very much, but she said they hold a lot.

I think I can probably find something large enough as he's only 39 pounds, but I never even thought of searching, thanks.

Interesting. I take magnesium myself at night for restless legs. Thanks for the suggestion.

I have ordered a large FuzziBunz with a Cotton Babies insert and a six-layer hemp insert, which I will add a microfiber towel to as well if necessary, but I'm also going to try Good Nights, and possibly the Happy Heineys as well. Thanks again, all!
