I am working in Taiwan right now teaching ESL. I have a class of 8 ans 9 year olds that will be studying maps along with their current unit. They are also doing letter writing. I saw this as a good time to introduce the idea of a pen pal to them. I have a small class, only 5 students, so doing this with a school might not work out. I have a mother that is homeschooling express interest. She has 2 children, a boy and a girl. I still need a few more students, since it would be easier and more successful if everyone has their own pen pal.
If anyone is interested in this, please let me know. The first set of letters might all look the same since I have to teach them what to do, but I think they will change a once they get to know each other better
If this is a success, I will likely do it with older children I teach, too. So feel free to let me know if you are interested, even if it's not for this age group. .
