Help with unsightly pimples after shaving/waxing!!!

Does anyone have a home (or not!) remedy or prevention plan for unsightly little pimples that crop up on legs and bikini line after shaving and/or waxing? I had started waxing a few months ago thinking that it would be better than shaving but it's the same!! I feel like it looks just as bad as when I go unshaven! I also have a problem with ingrowns but I just bought a product called Shoba that seems to be helping with that. Right now, my regimen is: Shoba at night before bed; exfoliate in shower with Olay Daily Facial wipe then moisturize with Burt's Bees Buttermilk lotion. I'm thinking maybe I need to exfoliate more but I have really sensitive skin (obviously!). A sugar scrub maybe?!?! I'm at my wit's end with this!!!! Any help or ideas would be appreciated!

Do you put powder on the spot you're waxing before applying the wax? I found that helped, especially with ingrown hairs.

I'v found that using either a deodorant stick or baby powder or baby corntarch helps a lot.

I use baby powder before waxing (actually I use body sugar) and I exfoliate daily with a washcloth in the shower.

That takes care of the large majority of them, occasionally I have to go digging for the ingrown hairs with a sharp tweezer.

using powder before waxing should help and for a good homemade scrub to exfoliate mix sugar and olive oil

I slather on 1% hydrocortisone cream for a day or two after waxing/epilating to keep inflammation down.

I get terrible red bumps all over after epilating. I read that using moisturizer right afterwards can make it worse.

What I do now is apply rubbing alcohol to the area afterwards, and no lotion. I also try to avoid wearing socks the day I epilate my legs, or anything else that would further irritate the epilated area.

I usually will apply rubbing alcohol again after the next time I take a shower too. This has prevented the red bumps for me.

I just called a friend since she is a ''dancer'' and I figured she'd know..according to her, after shaving/waxing, use one of the Preporation H wipes on the area, and then apply a thin layer of Neosporin. She swears by it, and says the other girls she works with use the same routine. Hope this works for you.

I rub on witch hazel directly after shaving. Seems to do the trick!

This maybe totally out in left field but I had major issues.... and.... I finally did laser hair removal. I did this on my bikini line and armpits (and lower leg, spoiled myself) and I can't say enough about it. It cost $$ but when you think about how much you pay in razors, creams, etc over the years, I made it work. Now I shave about once every 2 months and only if I really care. Um the reason I shave at all is because I probably could use one more appointment but I need to put the money aside (and frankly shaving as seldom as I do is liberating enough!)....

Good luck!
