Meat grinder

Hope this is the right place it is about food in a way. I know nothing about meat grinders but need one badly for deer meat. I am looking at one but not sure if it would be good enough. It's description says "Motor blocks up to 1.35 hp, up to 0.5 hp output" will that be powerful enough to do the deer meat? I got a smaller one today that had .2 hp and it dosnt work so I am taking it back tomorrow and need to replace it.

If anyone knows anything about grinders could you tell me if the .5 hp will be enough to deal with deer. Thanks

I got one that works great. I am surprised that no one replied though maybe wrong part of the forum? Anyway if anyone needs a good one I can recommend the #12 one from Gander Mtn. for $179.00. Avoid the #5 for deer it dosnt work.

We have a hand crank one from Lehmans - I think its the biggest model that you can just clamp (vs bolt) onto a table. It works pretty well, though it does best if you cut meat up into strips and if your doing a lot you prety much have to clean it out periodically (I think after about 10#s yesterday it needed to be cleaned cause' of so much fat clogging it up)
