All great news! So glad that you're getting the KD/clinic freak-out thing all sorted out!
Regarding IUI timing, I don't know a whole lot about that... as far as how many hours past the surge it should be. I know others on here have useful info, though!

AFM - thanks for all the encouraging words about timing, everyone! So, as far as what I said about it being POSSIBLE that I O'ed early...
I pinned this cycle at CD 15 (when FF may give me my CHs, even though I usually O on CD17) w/ O of my pregnant chart, and they are curiously similar pre-O! Definitely different pattern than other charts pre-O!
Just something to keep my hope alive and obsess over while I wait for my CHs! Lol.
ALSO, I had a premonition this morning (I dont' usually buy into such things, but this was too weird!). I am prefacing it with the fact that we plan to name a girl baby Sophie (after DP's grandmother):
1 - when I checked my inbox this morning, there was an offer from Mothering for a free "Sophie the Giraffe" if you ordered a subscription to Mothering Magazine using the promo code provided.
AND
2 - I was "resting my eyes" on the bus this morning, and when I opened them, we were passing by a cafe or salon or something near my house called "Sophie's."
couldn't ignore the premonitions, so I ordered a Mothering subscription to get the giraffe. Hahaha. I'm such a nut.

Your clarity about the single round of IVF and then, if necessary, the option to return to ttc with frozen embryos at a later point sounds really healthy, though. I had my daughter in grad school and remember how distracted I was for a very long time, before, during, and after the pregnancy. I'm starting to get back into that constantly distracted frame of mind, and it sucks. Now, in a tt position, I have teaching and meetings to make me *feel* productive, even though I'm still getting too little done in terms of research and publishing. Hopefully, IVF in January with a fully monitored and medicated cycle do the trick. If it doesn't, it sounds like you have the self-awareness and strength to move forward, knowing that parenting is still in your future, if you want it to be.
I'll know for sure from tomorrow's temp.
