when to offer wheat foods

Hi -
I am so confused as to when to introduce foods that contain wheat. Sometimes I see that you can start around 9 months, some say not until 1 year, and some say not until 2 years. Then, I see products at the store for 9 month olds (finger foods/teething biscuits) that contain wheat.
I have also read articles saying that introducing potential allergens too early can cause allergies AND articles saying that you should introduce the potential allergen sooner so the body can get used to it.
We do not have food allergies in our family, but I don't want to do anything now that could cause issues later, if I can prevent it.
Anyone have any advice? Thanks!

from what I understand, its fairly uncommon to withhold wheat/grains at all.

I personally plan to not introduce grains (corn, rice, quinoa, millet, what have you) until whenever he gets some molars, which often coincides with when the body starts producing measurable amounts of amylase. Amylase is found in trace amounts in infant saliva and in breast milk, but that is really only enough amylase to digest the milk itself, not any extra.

here's a good link:

Thank you - that link was very helpful! I did not know that about amylase. Now I have more info to consider.
