My 16 month old has clearly shown signs she's ready for a doll. I'm leaning towards two and I just can't decide.

After reading many of the threads here and researching the best cloth doll, I've narrowed it down to two that meet my criteria of cute, safe, natural, good clothing options and easy to maintain.

Can you help me? Which would you prefer?

The Nova Natural Little Friends is so adorable. My only reluctance is the fact that the filling is wool making it not machine washable.

The PBK Abby Doll is also darn adorable. I'm guessing it's machine washable as the site says it is made of 100% cotton.

Anyone have experience with either?
What's your personal preference?

Thanks for helping this indecisive mom out. :-)

No experience but, looking at the sites you linked, I prefer the PBK Abby. Just cuter IMO.

I did notice though that it said "Spot clean". Does that mean not machine washable? I must admit I am a bit inclined to just chuck stuff in the machine anyway. In a lingerie bag, on a gentle cycle probably wouldn't do too muc damage. Would it?

I chose PBK. We got my dd a baby doll for her first birthday and it gets so disgusting from her dragging it everywhere that machine washable is definitely a requirement for me! Even if the PBK one says spot clean I would be inclined to chuck it in the washer and dryer anyway, I do with everything else and haven't had any trouble.

Also, the PBK one is clearly a baby and I don't know about your dd but mine wants to hold and rock and feed and take care of her babies. The Nova one looks like it is older than she is.

I chose PBK, just because it is adorable.

washable is a must for us so I prefer cotton.

Waldorf dolls are washable. You just soak them in a sink with wool wash, massage the dirt off, rinse them, squeeze the water out, and set out to dry.
