dd has been great at home, but when we're out she almost never signs or tells me she has to go... i know... lots of distractions... and when i ask her, she always says "no". she hardly ever lets me know if she's wet her diaper while out either, usually, i'll take a potty with us and sit her on it when we're done shopping or when ever i think she needs to go...actually, i keep the potty in the car and try to get her to go there. also she wont use a toilet yet.
