Ethiopia

My mom loves ethiopia. She has traveled there a couple of times and talks about retiring there. A couple of years ago I looked for a magazine subscription to get her for Christmas about Ethiopia but could not find anything. Does anyone have any ideas of a book/movie/music/agazine that I could get her?

do you have an ethiopian restaurant or grocery store in your area?

can you go in there and shop around and see what they have.

does she know amharic? is there a language program that teaches it?

hey i hear your mom. i have gone back to school just so i can work in kenya, tanzania and maybe retire there. those have been my dream countries since i was 10 years old.

I just finished Cutting for Stone last night and loved it.  A beautiful book.  I hope your mom loves it!

I know a woman who was a missionary there for decades. She still keeps up with Ethiopian news and stuff, so I'll ask her. She talks about it all the time and it does sound like an amazing place; and she made her wedding dress out of traditional Ethiopian fabric and WOW, it is gorgeous. Maybe I should check my library for those books!

My mom brought me home a traditional baby carrier from ehtiopia a couple of years ago .  It's beautiful. I wish there was a magazine...
