Oh yeah, I thought about titling this thread "We're with child, but we're not virgins", but didn't want to offend anyone. But it still makes me laugh!

continuing advise for telling fam

With DS, we had DD wear a shirt we found at babies r us that said "big sister"..we walked in and went about normally without saying anything...it took mom about 10 minutes to see DD wearing the shirt. It too dad forever! We finally had to say something.."hey dad...look at DD's new shirt, isn't it cute?" he STILL didn't get it...and he's not a dumb person either! LOL!

I'm glad others share my sense of humor.

I'm so excited today! We have our first midwife interview this afternoon! I've got my massive list of questions all ready, now the time just needs to pass by more quickly!
I laughed too.

Good luck with the interview, let us know how it goes!

That would've been a cute thread name , but I also like the one you settled with. Thanks for starting it Evie's Mama and I hope your interview goes well.

I started to call our local HB midwife this morning but got too nervous and hung up. My reaction is so weird but not really. I'm a private person.... as I share this with the world wide web! Really, since I've worked with the birthing community for awhile now, there are several people that are waiting for my turn. Not including family and friends. They've been waiting for a long time now, so I'm hesitant to share the news. Not sure if I expressed that well. I want to share the news but I don't. I wonder when this will pass?

That's funny and I am sooooo lurking you Jen over at TTC boards, my fingers are crossed for you!

It is snowing like crazy, several feet now and it's great! Forces me to cuddle in bed and incubate!

We have not accumulated any snow yet which is late for us. I think I am looking forward to winter. I love my home in winter it is so warm and smells good too.
We are traveling to Costa Rica for three weeks after Christmas. I am excited but not looking forward to leaving the farm. We have not traveled except family related for 7 years. I hope I feel good and my toddler is not to outragious on planes and buses.... ugh. I have thought about canceling the whole thing but it is such a rare opportunity. Any advice?

Omg... it's December. This year seems to have flown by. Crazy.

Elizabeth, I chuckled at your sense of humor this morning. I was amused.

Tired today.. went to our Home Educator Fun Club this afternoon and it tuckered me out. I napped with a nursing Sage for a good hour this afternoon. I feel like I could use another 2 hours at least!

Can anyone else feel the top of their uterus yet? Mine feels like it's poking above my pelvic bone already.

Evie's mama ya got that one right... so not offended.

Nic I almost went to bed at 6. I am so tired. Daytime is ok but when its dark at 4 i am ready to sleep.

I hear you all on the tired aspect. I could just nap all day if my toddler would let me. As it is, she just went down to one nap a day and it's only 90 minutes. I really wish she would figure out how to sleep longer!

She's really upset with my lack of milk right now. It's so sad. She will just sob and sob about the absent na-na. I'm going to try to make some homemade formula to give her a bottle at night and hopefully that will help. She was up screaming in the middle of the night last night, hungry, and there was little I could do. She was night-weaned, but seems to be waking up again in the night due to hunger.

The interview went really well yesterday. The midwife is really really sweet. We disagree on some nutrition stuff (we're more TF, so I'm used to that), but otherwise we see eye to eye on most things. I have another interview on Thursday too, so we'll see how it goes.

This first one wants me to keep a food and exercise log all the time too. That sounds like a lot of work! It would probably help keep me on track though.

Since the other title got so much love, I went ahead and switched it.

So I think that I spoke to early... I started with the nausea yesterday and it hasn't stopped since. No vomiting but just all day yuckiness. I also have my first aversion... COFFEE . I am such a coffee addict and now it just makes my stomach turn . Also I think that I need to dig out the bella band already! WHAT IS THAT! I am 6 weeks today and my pants are already uncomfortable. That's not cool
post #18 of 140
painefaria, I've had that same feeling for a good week or two now. I sympathize.

I've pulled out the yoga pants a whole lot more comfortable than regular pants. I'm a little saddened by that though... I had just got down to a size that jeans were comfortable all day again. I was finally really starting to lose weight after my daughter and now I'll be back where I started!

I would love to wear more comfy clothes but I have to dress semi professional for work.

Mumof 3nic - where in illinois are you?
