any thoughts on Hemp Seed?

my latest Nutiva coconut oil order came with a pretty good sized sample or raw organic hemp seed. thoughts on this as a traditional food? they're delicious. i imagine they may need proper preparation, but any thoughts beyond that?

I will use the raw seeds VERY rarely, but avoid the oil, powders and other concoctions at all costs.

Please tell why? I am open to learning new things. I thought hemp was the best thing for you, especially the oil.

don't they contain all essential amino acids? No idea how to prepare them, but think they might be a 'perfect' food.

And aren't some hemp powders just ground up seeds? Hmmmm.... Subbing....

We're also talking a little bit about it here

It seems fine to me, I don't know if I would use it every day but to have on hand for a few times a week boost would be ok, I would think. Looking forward to more info on the oils and powders.

this is an interesting blog post that comes down on the side of hemp oil: bad, hemp seed: good. he says the oil is 70% polyunsaturated fatty acids, and there's all kinds of problems with those. and it's very high in Omega 6's, which we already get too much of. but he's positive about the seeds.
