Yeah, Jenn, it was J. Poor guy has had injuries lately, now pneumonia and the whole swine flu thing. He's a neat kid. I can't imagine how his parents must have felt...they're a very close family and he's their only child.

A is trying out a "happy light" my good friend loaned me...I'm too lazy to get up and use it...hmmmm. We'll see if she likes it.

FOGGY in Anchorage! been foggy for days now. Real bummer too. I miss the sun!

I will be mailing out my Xmas cards today! Yippee! And I think I will prep up a couple of batches of cookie dough for xmas vacation.

My mom just got DH a happy light for his birthday My mom has one and has found that in addition to helping her feel "happier" it really helps her sleep better at night. She sits in front of it and reads in the morning, I am really excited to see how well it works, DH has a really hard time in the winter.

Penelope, I thought I hadn't seen him around for a while. Poor guy. He's amazig with the younger kids and his karate is phenomenal. The kids did a pinata and they didn't get it open so Sunnie and Joon tried it. Sunnie did a basic kick and didn't get it then Joon did a....God only knows what it's called but it was amazing...and smashed the snot out of it. The kids were all going "WOW". It was so cute!

I did a brownie party at school today and now need to put Jonathan down for a nap.

Speaking of martial arts..

Yesterday we were driving down Northern Lights past Champ Tae Kwon Do. We saw a HUGE moose eating a tree in the parking lot. There stood across from him one of the instructors from Champ. (I assume he was keeping an eye on the moose since kids would be arriving soon for the after school program).

Anyway, Dp starts telling this really funny scenario.. Tae Kwon Do instructor vs. Moose

Moose does NOT follow sparring rules. Instructor "hya!" High kick to the nose. "hya!" to the moose knees. "TAE KWON DO!" and the moose flattens him.

It was highly entertaining..

Of course we all know not to bother moose. It was still funny to imagine though.

That's funny! I think even the best Master would back away from a moose!

Karate party was nuts as always. Just too small a space for so many people! It's bearable for a couple hours once a year, though. And there were some great parents helping direct the kids so that was good.

We have one more performance/potluck on Tuesday and then things slow down some. This is our last week of insanity before a few weeks of calm...then it starts all over for 5 more months. I'm realizing now how crazye our lives are with activities only because of how much I'm looking forward to not running around every day.

I have a little request to put out here. My husband and I are having our 5th wedding anniversary this Friday (the 18th) and we'd like to go out to dinner and a movie here in Anchorage. We have no sitter. We just don't know that many people outside of my husband's work and our own families. We were going to have my mom, who lives in Wasilla, watch the girls while we caught a movie, but for a couple reasons, that's a no go now. so, is anyone here available and willing to watch our daughters so we can go out?

our anniversary is the 20th!
DH is coaching and he'll be in Cordova this weekend so we can't go out. We were going to go this last weekend cuz my sister is in town and could sit for us...but then we all got sick over the weekend so nobody went anywhere.
Oh well, at least we finally have a tree up!

Have any of you seen any small (2-3 feet) Christmas trees around Anchorage? I saw some live Norfolk pines at Fred's. I want something that will fit on a table top and haven't been geting out as much as usual. Normally we cut a tree in Chugach Nat'l Forest - but don't want to go out for one with a three week old.

we're on 6 years
In our case DH was still in college so we had to get married on the Christmas break if we wanted any kind of honeymoon...I suspect a lot of folks have that scheduling situation thus so many weddings in late December.

Congrats on all the anniversaries!

We can never remember when we got engaged, and I'm notoriously bad about dates. I only know our wedding was in March because it was 2 weeks before my father died.

Willow turns 17 on Friday. I'm almost in shock.

I finally got on FaceBook, so if anyone's on there...well, I think you can find me from Karen's pages, 'cause I don't want my name out here for privacy reasons.



Cold here, and getting colder. I'm soooooooo not into cooking anything and don't feel like eating much...sigh. I really wish humans could hibernate.
