Ada
Born: 11/29/2009
Weight: 8lbs 1.7oz
So, after 6 days of laboring at home (I did make it to 5cm during that time though :-) and two days after my water broke, the decision was finally made to transfer me to the hospital for some much-needed Pitocin.
It turns out that was all I needed to get going. They started a minimal dose of Pitocin (I think it was 7?) at 4pm and Ada was born at 12:02am on Sun Nov 29th.
Though I was planning and hoping for a home birth, I still had a great experience in the hospital. The L&D nurses and the attending OB were fantastic, they had a tub in the labor room that I was able to use, a birth ball, a rocking chair and they were all great about doing what they could to help me achieve the med-free birth (Pitocin aside) that I wanted. And I do have to say, the 24-hour on-call care after she was born was a pretty darn nice perk :-).
I'll write a better, more in-depth birth story when I have time, promise.
Anyway, Ada and I came home yesterday and we're doing well - just trying to find our pattern/flow and we're getting there.
