Suite101 is another writing site. You don't have to have a degree or clips, though I'm sure it helps to get hired. You do need to be able to follow their house style and write well. SEO (Search Engine Optimization) is necessary to bring in the $$. They don't pay per piece, but per ad click-through. So if you write a popular piece that also garners lots of ad click-throughs you will make money. People there report incomes monthly ranging from $0.10-$5000 with the $5000 being way off the curve. I would say with experience and a large body of work you could work up to $500/month, though. That's a reasonable target. I think the $5000 is out of most Suite101-ers range, though it is something to aim for. Your old articles still stay up and keep paying as long as someone clicks an ad so the large body of work is essential to really making money on the site.
I have a friend who does pet-sitting and you can really make some money there. She doesn't have any special qualifications except having owned pets for all her life and loving animals. She is really concientious and great with them, too, and she's very personable so owners love her. She doesn't keep the pets in her home, but will visit in their home. She feeds, walks, scoops litter boxes, gives meds. You can easily make $25 a visit doing this and of course you would visit multiple times a day for most pets. It can cramp your style a little bit since people tend to travel at holiday times of year, but you can always refuse a job if it's not a good time for you. I heard a story or read an article on NPR that was talking about pet-sitters/dog-walkers in NYC that make six figures!
