Foods affecting sleep?

I couldn't decide if this belongs here or in the Allergies so moderators, if you think it should be moved, please do so.

Do you find that there are certain foods that result in your kids waking more often at night? I'm not talking full-on allergies, but still reliable enough to be more than coincidence? After some experimenting, I'm becoming convinced that whenever we have any type of red meat for dinner (generally steak or roast), DS has a "bad" night in that he's up every couple of hours insead of only once or twice.

I thought I saw somewhere a list of foods to avoid before bed, along with a list of foods that promote sleep, but can't seem to find anything in my searches. Anyone know what I'm talking about & can point me in the right direction? TIA!

This is completely ancedotal, but when my grand-mother-in-law had her esophogial (sp?) sphincter repaired, the doctor strongly cautioned her against eating red meat for several weeks. She was told that it is "harder to digest." --her words. So maybe there's something to it.

As an adult I find some foods affect my sleep (anything rich with cream or oil), so I'm sure it's possible for children as well. How old is your DS?

I'd be interested in the same resources if someone has a link...

ETA didn't notice your siggy before. 15 mos.
