luteal phase...

Whats the longest time the luteal phase can be?

i no it says the average is 14 days ...

I have a 26-28 day cycle and i think this cycle *if* i did O it would of been extra early as i had cm on CD5 -CD9 ... if i did ovualte between those dates tht would give me a very long luteal phase..

My cbfm did go up to high on CD9, which is the earlist its ever done that for me...

any opinions?

If you ovulated earlier than normal your cycle will simply be shorter than usual this month...your LP length doesn't change based on O date. For example if you normally O on cd13 and have a 28 day cycle and then have a cycle where you O on cd 10, your cycle would only be 25 days that month (with AF still arriving at the expected time, based on LP length).

you didnt ovulate on cd9 if you just got a high reading on cd9 with your fertility monitor... you get high then peak before O actually happens

Piggy-backing on what Mae said... EWCM usually shows up a little before you O. If you're getting high readings and EWCM on CD9, maybe you O'd on or around CD10-11-12.

But back to the original question. I think the longest an LP should be is about 16 days.

yeah that too lol... anything longer than 16 days is usually considered a functioning cyst (as in, your luteal cyst did not rupture when it should have, bringing on a period, but you are not pregnant) or else you are pregnant.

but I do not think that will really be a worry. No matter when you O your LP will be the same length so if you O earlier than normal one month, your LP will make up for it and your cycle will be shorter than normal.
