If your child is not scheduled to receive a vaccine...

How many of your well child appointments do you do? We selectively vax, and 8 month old DD is now only scheduled (by my schedule) to receive 3 more shots during her childhood, barring unforeseen circumstances. Right now, our insurance covers all her WBV's at 100%, so it's really no cost to us. I'm just wondering how often check-ups need to be for a healthy, largely unvaxed child.

My 19 month DS is 100% unvaxed and we have done all but the 15 month visit. I went because I wanted to establish a relationship with the doctor so that if we need to go for other reasons I feel comfortable with her and she knows my son. From here on out I will likely just go once a year if that.

My DD is vaccine free and hasn't seen a Ped since she was 2 months old.

We don't do well baby visits with DS 2 who is vax free. DS 2 got seen at 1 day, 1 week and 18 months and then yesterday at 3 years. Yesterday was the first illness that Ifelt that I needed help with, crying and adominal pain, and it turned out to be nothing but a virus. The ER doc was really good. They were ready to do blood tests and xrays, when DS suddenly woke from his nap and was his happy self again.

DS 1 has had more visits but I skipped a few as they really were just a waste of time. He was vaxed on schedule til 17 months but here docs don't give vaccines the Nurses at the Public Health Clinics do.
