so IS breakfast really the most important meal of the day?

I get up around 7:00 or 7:30 and generally have a cup of tea pretty immediately. But I don't feel hungry until 10 or 10:30. And then not very hungry. Should I be forcing myself to eat a big, healthy breakfast since it is apparently so important? Just wondering about that. It's funny, but I just realized that my dad is the same way. He gets up and has coffee but isn't ready for real food til near lunch time. What's up with that? Should I try a breakfast training routine and get my digestive system on the ball here? lol. What do you think?

Eat when you're hungry.

Sure there are studies that show people who eat breakfast are at a healthy weight. BUT, those are correlational studies and often what happens is people may starve themselves in the morning and then end up eating MORE later to make up for it.

That isn't your situation. You're not hungry. So wait until 10 to eat and listen to your stomach for the rest of the day. Personally, I eat 'breakfast' around 10, 'lunch' around 2, a snack around 4:30, and dinner around 8. I may have another snack around 10:30. I've lost weight that way and maintained that way.

I like to put something in my belly upon waking. Unless it is before 6AM. Then I am better off not eating, as I get really sick. You don't have to feast for breakfast. Think simple. A boiled egg and some tea would be fine. One whole grain toasted bread slice with a thin layer of real peanut butter, or some home made jam, etc. would be fine. Even a small piece of fruit would be adequate.

Yes, it is. But there's nothing that says breakfast must be eaten at a particular time. If your body is telling you to break your fast at 10 am, then I'd listen to it. I'm the same way, can't eat first thing in the morning. During pregnancy it was very difficult on me because if I didn't eat I'd be sick from the m/s, but if I did, I'd be sick because my body wasn't really ready for food. I compromised by starting each day with an apple, and then an hour or 90 minutes later actually having a meal.

But yes... if you're a person who is sensitive to carbs particularly, breakfast can make or break your day. Eating a plate of pancakes with syrup and fruit with no eggs, bacon, sausage, etc., is a quick way to make the rest of my day hell.
