Bulk coconut oil storage

While I'm over here bugging you guys for advice, I thought I would ask one more question...
A group of friends and I are planning to order the 5 gallon bucket of CO from MRH and split it among the families.
We were planning to split it into mason jars...is this a good idea?
If anyone has any ideas on how to break-up and store large amounts of CO, please let me know!!
Thanks!

It sounds like a good idea to me, but you will need lots of mason jars. I buy a smaller bucket than that, maybe 2.5, but just for our own use. And I just scoop out enough to fill a few mason jars with an ice cream scoop, and then put the lid back on until next time. Coconut oil stores very well, for a long time.

I buy a 5 gallon bucket for our family - it doesn't last a year! I try to order in the warmer months so it's liquid, then I ladle/pour it into various jars. I save jars from nut butters, pickles, kraut, etc & reuse them. Then I just keep the jars in the cabinet.

Thanks so much!! I just wanted to make sure this was a feasible idea.
I just ordered our CO from Nutiva; I think I got a pretty good deal...
The case of 4- 1 gallon tubs was on sale for $171.99, w/free shipping, and I used the coupon code FBFAN and got 20% off the total; so I got 4 gallons for $137.59. That's $34.40/gallon.
I am excited!!
It is nice to be in the company of others who would be excited by getting 4 gallons of oil in the mail
