Tips to keep busy during early labor?

I think I may be in the very early stages of labor, and I'm having trouble coming up with things to keep busy to keep me moving... And lying on the couch like a bum is probably NOT going to be very productive or help things move along. lol. Unfortunately, the 2 months of nesting have left without much left to do around here, so I was wondering if you guys have any good tips for busy things to keep me on my feet? Last time I walked around my neighborhood, but we moved recently and I don't know the area well enough to be out alone after dark....

Can somebody take you out to a store? I walked all day long during both of my labors, and it really seemed to move things along. Might I suggest Walmart lol? Or a mall? Somewhere you can get out and move around would be good.

Well, good luck with your labor! This is such an exciting time, and I hope everything goes well for you

I was gonna say Wal-Mart, too-- that's where I "early labored" with DD2 (born in Nov). I loved it cause they don't close and there is a LOT of store to walk. For some reason, people stayed out of my 10-month-pregnant way

I walked all over the woods in prep for DD1, but it was August.

I went to the grocery and then made some pumpkin pie.

Lol, I had my baby 2 Sundays ago, and we labored:
In a restaurant, at Petsmart, Staples, and then Walmart!!
Every time a strong contraction would come, I'd kneel down and pretend I was looking at something on the bottom shelf.
You can go out to a store, and still labor "incognito"!

Congratulations! Wal Mart seems like such an appropriate place to have a baby

I'm guessing you probably don't need any more ideas!! I'm guessing by now you're either plenty busy with active labor or snuggling your baby!

I spent a couple hours in denial "these are just crampy BHs" then when dh got home from work we went shopping.. stopping at my favorite fast food restaurant (burgerville..mmmm..they're local and are pretty darn "green" for fast food) then two different grocery stores. I really wanted someone to come up and ask when I was due so I could say "now" The second store we went to was fred meyer and they're kind of a walmart type store. I tried looking at baby things but couldn't really focus. I kinda wish I had forced myself to pick out something special for the baby that I bought IN labor! How sweet would that be? After awhile I got this antsy "its time to go home NOW" feeling that I think was my body telling me I was now in active labor. I got home and timed ctx and they were 3 mins apart! and by dh's amateur guess, I was around 4cm.
