I was talking to my mom the other day and somehow we started talking about WIC and I was telling her about the new breastfeeding packages and how I don't want to switch the baby to formula because I'd have to give it all up. Then she was like "wait, what? Baby isn't on formula? I could have sworn you had switched her" I asked her why she'd think that and she rambled something about how I'd returned to work (been back for 5-6 months) and everyone weans when they return to work or after a couple months of putting up with the nonsense of pumping (plus I'm in the military, so...and by the time I was less than halfway through the postpartum program, I was the only one of my "due-date-group" still nursing--and were telling the new moms about the "freedom" they experienced when they stopped breastfeeding--dh could get up in the middle of the night feeds, I didn't have to take time out of my day to pump, etc. There are actually regulations and policies regarding breastfeeding support, but most either don't know about them or the mom may be a young private who doesn't want to "make waves" with her unit or in some ways fears standing up to her NCOs (supervisors).).
