Do you have patience? determination? faith in your products?

What I mean by this is - I want to get this business off the ground, but I worry that I'll get cold feet before it gets its chance to succeed. Does anyone understand what I'm trying to say here?

Did you have doubts at any point? How did you work through it? Did you have a time frame in mind "if I don't see progress in 9 months - I quit" kind-a deal?

I didn't have a time line but I had extremely low expectations and I started very small for very little money. I figured if it didn't work, I wasn't out much and I'd figure something else out. I got lucky though. My competitors were also very small (it would be extremely difficult for someone getting in now to compete with us for example unless they wanted to invest a lot of money--but at that time, it was pretty easy to get in) and the niche market I operate in took off beginning of this year.

I completely understand your hesitancy though. Your products are much more labor intensive--that makes it hard to build your business quickly and attract more customers. I think you either have to go crazy and just work frantically toward the goal of being successful or limit your expectations (while also being ready to switch to being more motivated if there are signs you should be). Don't know if that makes sense though...

It does make sense.

Here is what I'm telling myself: I will aim to add at least one product a day, OR average out 7 products a week.

I am trying to make things that are not useless, i.e. I really like the toys I am making, if I will have no problems passing them on to my sister (who is having babies very soon), or saving them up for my own little ones in the future. And all the accessories are useful as gifts.

I kick myself for not starting this in September, but I think I will give myself a full year of full force commitment before slowing down.
