If so, how?? I'm interested in all responses, but particularly those in colder climates like mine...

Nak

Not sure where you're located but I'm in MN which can be pretty much as cold as it gets. I have a gym membership that has childcare available. I don't feel comfortable enough to leave the 9 week old there but I take the 5 year old and then dp only has to watch the baby.

Even so, I've only managed to get there 1-2x per week. I wish I could get there more often, but life keeps getting in the way. I feel so flabby and still have the paunch in front. Probably 10lbs to go.

my mom and grandmother chipped in and got me a BOB revolution duallie stroller for Christmas, and gave it to me early so I could start walking again with my 3-year-old and the baby. It is so awesome, I've been walking 3 miles most days with them in it. I got the carseat adapter so I could put DD in it already. I'm normally a runner and can't wait to start running again but have to wait until DD is big enough for me to run with her.

I have been walking 2 miles. I just got the BOB Revolution double so I can take both kids. I used to be a runner and am planning to start up again slowly - haven't run since before I was pregnant with my 2 year old. I put the new baby in the BOB without the carseat. I walk on pavement, though. I don't think it is too bouncy for her - although she's pretty big - 16 lb.

We walk and walk and walk and walk... I don't have a stroller (really!) and I also don't drive (at all!) so the little guy goes in the Moby Wrap and we walk everywhere.

Also trying to do a couple of core muscle things throughout the day when I have a free moment here and there-- stuff like wall slides, squats, etcetera. There are a lot of things you can do while you have the baby in a carrier!

I would REALLY like to start running again, even if only on a treadmill. It looks like I'll be able to get a gym membership at the college campus my husband works on starting in January... the plan is to ride to campus with him 3 or 4 times a week and then work out for an hour in the morning while he watches the baby. We'll see if this actually happens... I really hope it does!

I go to the gym at 6am three mornings a week. I'm still trying to perfect the morning schedule, though, because I have to pump before I leave and the amount of time it takes varies.

I also have practice with my marathon team twice a week, but it's outside. Kids are welcome at practice, but it's so cold!!

I also have a Y membership which has childcare. I won't take the baby, and my 2 year old can't go sometimes (immune deficiency), but it is an option for me. Losing baby weight sure was easier with my other two that were born in March!

i try to walk a few miles at least a few times a week, since i don't have a car, that is fairly easy and Cora is just in her stroller while we run errands.
i also have a wii fit and i have been able to get some exercise in that way while she naps.

No exercising but I have cut back on how much I eat each day. DH just purchased a family membership at the local YMCA but I have yet to go the first time. There's just not enough time in the day and I don't want to do anything else to exhaust me even more.

I try to get on my treadmill 3 times a week. It is tough to work out a good time, though. I feel so good after working out that all the effort is worth it! On my off days, I try to do some plain old sit-ups, push-ups and light weights with my arms.

Just a quick tip...if you can swing a really part time job at the Y, your membership is free and you can upgrade to a family membership (for the free daycare) for a smallish amount of money. I did that when I had fewer/older children to pack up. Now the thought of packing us all up is a workout in itself (and I wouldn't want to take the baby there and expose her to all the germs)!

Does carrying a 15 lb-er in a carrier several hours at a time count?
That + walking would be my only excercise at this point...
I took out some of post-natal Yoga DVD's, I know it's time.

I do crunches on the floor next to ds while he has tummy time. That's about it so far.
