Child Spacing-- when is it morally responsible NOT to conceive? - Page 2

Thanks all. A huge part of it is I just want a baby so very badly. It seems so selfish to type it out-- I have four beautiful wonderful children. But I loved the ones I lost, too, and I so want to hold just one more little one in my arms.

The good news is, he said after the new year, right? And I'm going to probably get my period this weekend. So really, that doesn't leave a whole lot of time to wait at all, even keeping doctor's orders.

I do really appreciate everyone letting me think this through here.

I am so very sorry about what you are going through.

Here is my very humble opinion. I am quiverful and a past Catholic. So take it as you will.

I have 100% faith in God's ability to open and close the womb. I would be praying that God give my body the time to heal that He feels is needed. He knows your heart.

That said, I do believe in personal responsibility in caring for the body. I would participate in some sexual activities and avoid others. To "my" interpretation of Scripture, that is ok. Your heart is 100% open to new life, but your body is not. Know what I mean?

However, from a Catholic point of view, I do believe this qualifies as grave circumstances and that it would be within religious expectations if you both decided to abstain.

for you my sweet sister.

Also....your thread title is not exactly what this is about.

This is about your health. I am quiverful, but if I was facing a woman issue, I am 100% ok with getting myself healthy EVEN if that means abstaining or using a condom for a short time.

That to me is NOT being against life. I am trying to get myself healthy so that I do not endanger myself or my future children.

One should be VERY careful to pray about this and insure that their are no seeds of selfishness in their motives, but health issues are important to care for.

I wouldn't have the first clue as to what to say on the spiritual side, except maybe, follow your heart...but I would agree on the medical. A D&C is very invasive, and I would wait. At least abstaining on the days I was fertile (find that BBT!!)

And maybe God is directing the doctor to tell you not to get pregnant. Maybe that's His sign.

I'm sorry for what your going through. I also totally know what's it like to have baby fever BUT you do sound a little qf! Join us on the qf thread! We are not as crazy as you may think! Plus they really do have good advice on when/why to have/not have children. I suggest just leave it up to God (qf teachings) because really if you were ment to conceve you will regardless of your medical history---and if God doesn't want you to conceive you won't---right? It's all in his hands. I'll pray for you
