I'm starving all the time!

Seriously, I can't seem to eat enough these days! I eat more than a full meal and am still not satisfied!! What is up with that?

I am taking Domperidone which I know moves things through the GI system faster, but I've been on it since DS was about 9 mo (he's 15mo now), and this has only been going on for the last few weeks.

Could this be just due to nursing a toddler? Obviously the bigger he gets, the more BM it would take to keep him going, but he's also eating loads of solids so it doesn't seem like that would be the only reason for it.

Any ideas???

(...off to raid the fridge again! )

I totally remember being super hungry around that time. I guess it makes sense...toddler bellies are bigger than infant bellies....

just wanted to say i have an almost 15 month old and i have noticed more trips to the fridge and pantry for me as well!! my DD also eats very well. it's funny she nurses the most in the early morning hours (due to me trying to keep her asleep until at least 6am!!) and i am hungry ALL MORNING. i usually eat two breakfasts and then an early lunch. my hunger subsides as the day wears on and she's not nursing as much. and still, i continue to lose weight...

I was a vegetarian for 12 years. I made it through the entire pregnancy & 6 mos of breastfeeding before I was down to about 135 lbs. That's 30 less than I weighed when I got pgs, and about what I weighed in high school. I'm almost 6 feet tall. I was worried enough I had my thyroid tested. But it was okay. I was just starving ALL the time.

Needless to say, I started eating meat agian and it made a huge difference. I have meat at almost every meal now, otherwise I'm hungry and need snacks before bed. I nursed my son until he was 33 mos old through 6 mos of pregnancy. I managed to put on about 10 lbs before getting pgs again.

Hmm, some interesting thoughts here. I am rather more hungry in the morning (although not always exclusively) and while not vegetarian, I almost never have protein in the morning. Might have to see if meat would help. Thanks for the ideas!

I'm in the same boat....currently nursing 15 mo old and I can't get full and I'm still losing weight. I can eat as much as my husband at dinner and not feel full. I weigh 15lb less than when I got pregnant. I would like to gain about 10lb now as I'm not happy being so skinny. But I can't seem to even get full, let alone put on weight.

I was starving all the time the first six months (and DS grew from under 5 pounds to 23 pounds then), then I had a phase of normal eating, and recently it picked up again - with DS nursing only 3-5 times a day. I can eat soooo much! I'm not pregnant nor do I have intestinal parasites, I checked that out.
I have trouble keeping my weight up, I'm 5 feet 6 inches and try to stay over 110 and it is really hard. I feel like eating all the time!!!!! (thyroids are fine here) DS must be getting all the good stuff

I'm hugnry all the time and have been since day one with DD. I have gained and lost weight, I'm about 20 over my pre preg weight. I gained 40 during preg.

I'm so glad to read this thread! I was just noticing yesterday (at a birthday party) that I tend to take rather LARGE portions of food, and seconds, when the other people don't.
