Am I interpreting this correctly? That any place, even private establishments, that I'm allowed to be in, I am allowed to bfeed in?
I NIP a lot and I've never had anyone even take a second glance at me. But I was at the Bounce House last weekend with my 2 yr old and sat down on the floor there to nurse my 12wk old while still being able to see and monitor the toddler. I actually had a small burpee cloth over the baby's face, more because he was being very overstimulated by all the noise and activity, than to cover the act itself. But some older woman came over and said "let's see that baby's face." Knowing that I had my shirt covering my boob, I pulled the cloth back and she jerked away and said, "OMGosh, I didn't know he was feeding." And she ran off to her family and her husband. A few minutes later the husband comes and stands right over the top of me and stares down at me for a few minutes and walks off. He did this several times before I finally looked up and said, "Can I help you?" He said, "You shouldn't be doing THAT here." And I said, "Legally, I'm allowed to do this anywhere I want or need to." And he stormed off and dragged his 2 granddaughters and the rest of the family out of there.
I just want to make sure I'm correct and that I can fully defend myself if this happens again and the person makes a bigger deal out of it.

Specifies that the act of breastfeeding shall not be considered public indecency as defined by § 39-13-511; or nudity, obscene, or sexual conduct as defined in § 39-17-901. (HB 3582) |

I loath that stipulation in the law here in TN.
