Question...

Right now my husband and I are TTC and I've gotten him to agree that cloth diapering will be a whole lot easier, better for the environment and cheaper in the long run.

I've heard you can buy "sample packs" that have different kinds of diapers, then when baby arrives you try them all out and decide what you like best. Where can I buy something like this?

Also, I've read that there are disposable inserts for BM that are flushable. The only way my care provider (my sister) will do the cloth diapers is if we get those. Where can I find them? I'm hoping to stay home with baby so we may not need them, but I'd like the link in case.

If this is in the wrong section, please move it!

The flushable liners we like are made by Imse Vimse. They are made of rice paper. They can be washed and reused till they fall apart, os probably 3-4 times each. If they are pooped on they jsut get flushed. The thing about baby poo (at least brestfed baby poop) is that it can easliy be tossed in the washer w/o rinsing it off. Once they start soilds, that is when the liners come into play.

The trial packs usually have a certian day limit on them, like 2 weeks or so. Best way to do it is have a few packs of NB sized sposies on hand, then order the trial pack once baby is here. Or just get 36 premie/ nb sized prefolds, 8 covers, and a few snappis and start there. Even my 9 lb newborn fit in the premie sized prefolds for 3-ish weeks. Now we use them as burp cloths so they are getting their useage.

I thought there were places on-line where you could actually buy a set of different types of diapers and keep them? Am I wrong? Is it foolish to do it that way?

Oh, no, absolutely you can do that. I was thinking of Jilliansdrawers.com You can buy 1 of any diaper from any site and make your own package basically. I have an assortment of stuff, like 1 of just about everything out there.
