So I was wondering that if you as a parent were wanting to hire a Nanny, be it full-time or part-time, where would you look for one???
I'm after a Nanny job in South East QLD but don't know how to go about finding one!
I am SO experienced and as qualified as they come so think this could be perfect for me!

There's a bunch of childcare stuff on our local craigslist.

Try sittercity dot com. Also, if you know anyone in your local Gymboree play place, spread the word that your looking to be a nanny - I told our Gymboree teacher that I was looking for a new nanny, and she had a recommendation and two weeks later I hired her!

Good luck,

Jane

I've gotten my sitters from craigslist.

Word of mouth can be really powerful too. Change your status message on Facebook: "Got kids? I'm looking for a nanny job!" Tell all your friends you're looking for work. Talk to people with kids at the park. Tell your baristas when you pick up your morning coffee. Network!

Join a nanny agency, its free for the nannys the parents have to pay. Or go on nannygps.com and put in your state, there are heaps of jobs on there. Make sure your resume is up to date as well!

We've aways hired nannies from Craigslist, and by putting ads in local papers (not widely-circulated, but city-specific publications). We do geographic searches as the public transit system here is so terrible - if anyone had to travel more than an hour, we found they didn't tend to stick around as long.

Yup. I'm a former nanny and have had the best luck on CL.

Church bulletins are a good source too.

OH! And the moms from my local LLL groups are always looking for childcare of some sort of other

sitters.com and nannies4hire.com. Be very detailed in your profile.

We found our nanny through care.com. Word of mouth is great, too - let everyone know you are looking, you never know. Also like social networking site ideas. We were happy with the level of detail provided via care.com and the option to do background checks and references through their service.

Good luck!
