My daughter is almost 9 months. Will I ever be able to to sneeze/cough again without peeing a little bit? Will having a second baby (which we want) make this worse?

Moving to Birth & Beyond... hopefully the mamas there will have some great ideas for you!

Kegels are good but you need to make sure you're doing them correctly. If you can do a hundred kegels at a time you may not be doing it right! Perhaps see if you can get a referal to a PT who has experience in the areas of pelvic floor conditioning or women's health? There's also a book called "Beyond Kegels" that some people find very helpful (a handful of exercises specifically aimed at maintaining a dry bottom line, they're applicable for everyone from young bedwetters right up to seniors with nerve damage). I'm pretty sure Amazon still carries it.

No personal experience there, but I have an aunt who still pees a lil when she laughs/sneezes and her daughter is 18. I know that isn't what you want to hear... sorry! But the pps had great tips, I hope you find something that works! Have you talked to your mw or OB? They might be able to suggest some things too

I ended up going to see a physiotherapist who specialised in post-natal issues and I have to say that it was the best money I ever spent! She showed me how to do kegels properly. I am not exaggerating when I say I was doing thousands of them daily and getting nowhere It made a big difference.

Thank you....I'm really hoping that I'm not still peeing a little when she's 18!!

I am doing Kegels (correctly I think....I can't do that many in a sitting....maybe 15?). It is way better than when she was first born and in the months following, but I seem to have hit a plateau and the issue does not appear to have diminished in the last 3 months or so. I just requested "Beyond Kegels" from interlibrary loan (nothing like having the town library staff knowing about your peeing issues!). I'll also call my OB....it seems like this should have gone away by now.

You should see a physical therapist who is trained in pelvic floor rehab. Although many women live with it, it is not a normal, expected fact of life after baby and there is help for most cases.
