Louisville, KY - Page 2

more louisville dr. ?s

We are moving back to Louisville at the end of May (eek, so soon!) after 3 years in Ann Arbor (my husband is on a fellowship as a PhD candidate at UM). We went to Dr. Daly before we moved and she was okay with not vaxing then-- can anyone clarify if she still accepts unvaxed kids? We're having a new baby in late July/August so I want to get in somewhere pretty soon after we move, although my big boys probably won't need much.
I've also gotten a recommendation for Deer Park Family Doctors-- does anyone know if they take unvaxed kids? We have Blue Cross of Michigan insurance so we'll have to figure out who takes that, too.

I've got to call her tomorrow anyway so I will ask. My children are delayed vaxed which she is fine with.

hillymum--
Did you get a chance to ask Dr. Daly about it?
As it turns out, for several reasons we've decided to go ahead and partially vax my 7 yr. old and fully vax my 4 yr. old between now and when he starts K in August (well, fully as in the ones required for school). So now the big issue is our new baby, who we definitely will not be vaxing anytime soon (until before kindergarten at the earliest). If she's okay with delaying for at least a couple years, that would give us something to work with! How long do you delay for?

I know this is an older thread, but I thought I'd comment for anyone's information that is searching for no-vax friendly pediatricians in Louisville that I just called Dr. Daly's office and the receptionist told me that they will do a delayed schedule, but all kids must be up-to-date by age 2. It was the first question she asked me. My son is 2.5 and not vaxed and she just flat out refused to see us.

For what it's worth, we've always gone to Dr. Corba at Kids R Great Pediatrics just across the river in New Albany, IN. He is FABULOUS and great with not vaxing. But out insurance is changing and I need to find someone in-state.

I'll update as I call around more.

Good to know about Dr. Daly. We see Dr. Laura White in Shelbyville and she is awesome and fabulous about not vaxing, but she is a bit of a drive for some people. I know when I was pregnant and researching this, I couldnt find anything.

We are also planning on moving to Louisville. We plan on having our son attend the local Waldorf School. Does anyone attend Waldorf?

Just want to add that we see Dr. White and she is GREAT.

I love Dr. White! She is an hour drive for me, but since we very rarely go to the doctors, (just well baby visits between my daughter's cardiologist visits), I am okay with the drive. She was my go-to doctor after Dr. Guelda stopped taking unvaxed patients.

Yep, she is about 45 minutes from me, but its totally worth it. We dont go to the doctor super often, so its more like a fun trip. Plus, Shelbyville has an excellent little tea shop that I love to visit while Im there.
