foamy poop

my little guy has foamy poop this afternoon. according to the internet this means he is sick, however he is peeing regularly and isn't feverish.

I noticed that when we cleaned it up it looked like regular runny baby poop (he is 6 weeks old). Is it possible that this is normal and most people wouldn't notice because they only see the baby poop once it's smeared in the diaper?

yes, we've had foamy poop over here too. but it wasn't until a couple of months ago i think (she's 6 months now.) It seemed to happen for us as her poo has been thickening up (going from the newborn watery stuff to the more concentrated variety.).
And yes, I think we notice it more because of EC!
I wouldn't worry about it, unless your little one shows signs of illness.

it can *sometimes* also be a sign of yeast in baby's belly, and sometimes also of a foremilk/hindmilk imbalance (assuming you are nursing). if baby exhibits a lot of gas and belly discomfort, or the poo becomes green, it is likely one of those two problems. if nothing at all happens and he seems healthy and content i wouldn't worry about it at all.

I would absolutely not worry about it. A friend of mine who ecs, the first time she saw foamy poop in the potty, she called the dr. Her first thought was that she was not rinsing all the soap off of her nipple shield! Her dr told her it just happens & most ppl do not notice b/c it is soaked up by the diaper. I agree that if he is acting fine, it just is what it is!

Thank you
It's odd at times being so preoccupied with some ones poop.
