I have a tooth with a very large cavity. It was a small cavity, and then the tooth broke, so now it's a huge hole. The nerve is exposed. I had an X-Ray done and the dentist showed me that is not infected, but it is inflamed.
For months I ignored it
since it didn't hurt, then it went through about 2 weeks of constant pain, and now it doesn't hurt unless I bite down. Biting something with that tooth REALLY hurts.
My options are a root canal with temporary filling, to be followed with a crown when I can afford it, or an extraction.
I am quite sure it is too far gone to heal naturally, but if anyone has thoughts about that I am open. We already take cod liver oil, drink raw milk, etc.
It is a bottom molar, the front one.
I am very concerned about the long term effects of a root canal, but also about missing a molar.

I wish I had some advice for you. I got a tooth extracted for the same reason when I was in my 20s and really broke. I still haven't gotten an implant to replace it
. Just be sure to do something...an infection would be super dangerous and that is a risk in your situation
