Giving an EBF baby a bottle...

We have been attempting to give our EBF 5 month old a bottle. He takes the bottle, and actually likes it. But, he isn't drinking it. The same amount is left in as when we gave it to him.

Any pointers or ideas? Or is he just never going to take a bottle?

Maybe try a faster flow nipple? i tried to give my EBF baby a bottle last month (well, my mom did when I left him with her) and he wouldn't drink out of the bottles that came with my breastpump, but when she used a different bottle and nipple (a little different shape and faster flow) she said he sucked it right down.

Mine did the same and, I hate to say it, he just never took a bottle. He is 8 months now and will drink milk and water from a cup, but still is very anti-bottle. He actually gets offended and looks at us accusingly if the breast milk isn't coming from the tap.....
These lil people are smarter than we think...

We skipped ahead to a sippy cup (Nuby brand). DS never really liked the bottle - he took it a couple times at first, but then would just play with it but not drink, like you said. The sippy works, but he dribbles a lot, so I hold a cloth under his chin or make sure he's wearing a bib.
DS is 7.5 months, but we gave him the cup around 5 months.

Cody won't take a bottle either, I think I should have started trying at an earlier age. He will play with a sippy or drink small amounts off a spoon. At this point I'm just waiting out him deciding the sippy is something he can drink out of.
