I am so exhausted. Baby is finally sleeping so I'm gonna make this quick.
I had my midwife sweep my membranes again that morning and took some castor oil. Contractions started sometime around 3pm. Nothing regular, just mild contractions like I've been having all week.
My water broke around 7 pm. Had DH call my midwife (she lives 20 minutes away). My contractions are INTENSE! Like, back to back and no stopping. It was wierd how it all changed after my water broke. So DH got the pool blown up, preparing for a longish labor. I had to poo (thanks castor oil) and when I went to sit on the toilet I felt a hell of a lot of pressure. Jim keeps asking me if I want his mom and all I can concentrate on is the pressure. I had to get it out. So I laid down a towel that was hanging up and knelt down. I started screaming for Jim to help me. He had NO idea what the hell was going on until he put his hands down there. And I'm still screaming! Wow, never thought I'd be one of those people!!!! Then he kept telling me to push because the baby was stuck.
I should've taken it slower with pushing but in my state I was listening to him. I was so scared because nobody was there yet but us (Cindi did show up not even 5 minutes after). He didn't cry at first, kinda just made a noise so I'm freaking out and trying to do anything to get him to cry. He was fine but something like that and that fast is scary!
I lost a bit of blood and she had to give me a shot of pitocin to help me clot better. I couldn't stand up for a few hours without passing out. My afterbirth meal was a plate of scrambled eggs with cheese and they were heaven.
They also loaded me up on sugar and protein and I eventually felt better with the more I ate.
He was born at 7:19 pm and weighed 8lbs 7oz and is 22 inches long.
He looks a lot like my youngest did.
