Kitchen Set

I want to knit a new linen set for my kitchen (table runner, chair pads, towels, pot pads). I was hoping that you ladies would have some ideas. Not necessarily a pattern (although a chart or motif would be nice). I found a tea cup set on the Lily website. But, I'm wanting something different.

So, if you could theme your kitchen anything, what would you do?

Or, what is your kitchen theme now?

Thanks.

Maybe walking through the kitchen and bath section of your local dept. store might help.

Some ideas: Rooster/chicken, farm animal for that matter, or maybe fruit?

My kitchen is decorated with suns moons and stars It's taken from a mirror that hangs in my kitchen that I love and that matched the color of the cabinets. So I've found or made other pieces that fit that motif. I borrowed the chart from these socks for my kitted pieces.

Do you have something in your kitchen already that you can take a cue from? A cookie jar or fancy tea pot or some art on your wall?

Well, I don't have anything in my kitchen to base my design on since I'm moving overseas. I'm only taking a few basic kitchen tools with me, and no decorations. I was thinking about stuffing yarn into every crevis I can find for my projects, one of which will be my new kitchen overseas. I'm not too worried about everything matching the new house, since most of the houses will be white with more white.

Thanks for your ideas. Keep them coming.

I have a motif that I like, this guitar chart, but my husband is a bit nervous about a "Rock on" kitchen motif. I think that it would be fun. And, everything I make is just going to be for a few years. For the last two years, at this house, I've had geese. Now, I'm changing houses and I'm ready for a new motif.

I love the guitar! Whatever you pick, it should be something that you love.

Do you have a favorite coffee mug? A cafe that I worked in once had the whole decor taken from the owners favorite coffee mug. The image was a sheltered harbor with boats and some strawberries growing in the foreground. She called the place "The Strawberry Cove" And it was decorated with a nautical motif with strawberries here and there. Of course we had lot's of strawberries on the menu. Strawberry muffins, strawberry pie...
