Our little man had been waking only to nurse 1-2 times a night, then going immediately back to sleep in the crib in his own - I could live with that. (DH was waking him up constantly, so we moved him to the crib without incident when he was 6 months old.)
Now, he panics when I put him back in the crib, asleep or not. He won't fall asleep if I rub his back, just starts talking and wiggling. He'll sometimes fall back asleep in my arms, only to wake when I set him down. He gets very upset when I leave the room for a few minutes and shows no signs of calming down. And I just can't let him CIO. Every night for 2 weeks, I have been up with him for 2 hours straight, in addition to his other nursings (he still won't eat many solids during the day). I don't think it is anything that he is eating because I am already on a restricted diet (no wheat, no dairy) and haven't introduced anything new. He might be getting his molars, but could that really be the cause of this major decline in his sleeping ability? Why is he suddenly getting so upset when it is time to go back to sleep? I am stumped over how to get through this one.
