How do you get gum out of clothes?

My son dropped his gum into his overalls, and now it is on the inside of the overalls and on the front of his shirt. I stuck them in the freezer and got most of if off, but there is still some on there. I don't want to wash it and have a sticky place that collects odd-colored fuzz forever. What can I do to get the gum off but not make a greasy spot on the clothes?

So is there no way to rescue these clothes?

I believe Goo Gone takes gum out. It's not a natural product but it might work.

Or try rubbing alcohol- I have gotten candle wax and almond oil out of clothes with alcohol, so maybe it's a solvent that works on whatever is in chewing gum that's not water-soluble.

My mom used to take gum off by rubbing with peanut butter. I have no idea if it'll work in your situation. I know it works wonders to get gum out of a kid's hair (yeah, that was me.)

Lemon Essential oil I hear works. I havent tried it tho. I should specify from young living essential oils. I dont know the purity of other oils out there.
