If you change immediately after every pee

how many diaper changes do you do per day? How often do you change dipes?

I try very hard to change ds as soon as he pees (during the day), but he goes so often! I focused one day, and he pee's over 12 times in 11ish hours (we part time EC, so some of that was in the potty). At times, he would go only 20 min before peeing again. I'd expect this with a nb, but he's 5mos old.

I would like to change immediately every time, and I try to, but sometimes I start doing something and don't think of changing him for an hour and when I check, he's wet. It doesn't seem to bother him (it would make it easier if it did!), but still...
(It is easier when I use fitteds with fleece longies over- I can tell when he pees that way, so he gets changed quickly then)

Anyway, just curious how it goes for you if you change immediately after every single pee.

i doubt that i catch my daughter (7w) after every pee but i aim to. no idea how man changes per day but i have 24 prefolds and wash about every 1.5.

We go thru soooo many diapers between the 2 boys. They both do very well though. I'd say they go overy 45min-1hour. I let them kick around naked as much as possible too.

That amount of peeing sounds normal. I'd say my daughter probably pees more than that but WAY less than when she was a newborn. But its also summer here so she's getting more water content in the breastmilk.

I recommend checking his nappy during any transitions. You're grabbing a drink in the kitchen: check. You're heading outside with the washing: check. Even just you're grabbing him a toy or something. Im sure you're constantly checking his well-being visually, so you just have to train yourself to keep the nappy in mind too.

But they have tiny bladders, some hold it longer then do a huge wee, others just let loose whenever the need arises Both are normal.

YK, I have to disagree with Logan (*hi Logan, I know you from a few lists*). Frequent peeing can be a sign of food sensitivities, especially salicyliates. It's nothing to worry about now (IMO), just something to keep an eye on - i.e. does he go more frequently if you eat a lot of broccoli or whatever - and a heads up that EC may change a lot once you introduce solids if he is actually sensitive to anything.
My six month old DS did about 6 or 7 wees today but it's Summer here & it was pretty hot today. When he was a newbie in winter he was nappied all the time (he was nakey all day today) and we'd go through 8 - 14 ish nappies depending on catch rate.

DD1 went through 10 diapers per day from birth until she started potty training, and I did try to change after every pee, but didn't always succeed and didn't feel guilty about it. As long as she wasn't rashy, I figured she was fine.

FWIW... my 2 year old still pees that often (if he's wearing a diaper - if not he holds out for hours ) I gave up getting to every diaper pee. *sigh*

I changed DD every 2-3 hours, before i fed her. Sometimes she was dry, sometimes she was soaking. So long as she didn't seem bothered and didn't get a rash i didn't worry about it.
