After being told my pelvis was too small and baby was too big, I went ahead with their suggestion of a c-section. After an awful recovery and seriously swearing off having any more children, I began reading more about the over-diagnosed CPD and got mad! When DS was a year old I began to think of another baby and badly wanted him to have a brother. I got the boy I wanted!

I'd like to email this to the three doctors who gave me internals and declared me too small. Oh yeah, and the doc who performed the surgery, saying as he stitched me up, "You'll only have a baby vaginally if it's premature or a girl, but you can go on to have ten more c-sections!" Oh, and the nurse in charge of records at the hospital who gave me the wonderful pep talk about how great c-sections are the second time around, once you know what you're in for. Ugh!
It's a testament to not having blind faith in doctors. Sure, they've paid a lot for their education, but they are human and make mistakes. It also goes to show that healthcare is a business...c-sections employ far more people than a boring, old vaginal birth!
Enough of my blathering. I just wanted to post my story. These boards have been tremendously supportive and informative...I don't know where I'd be without the wisdom found here!

I still haven't worked up the nerve to send the birth video but perhaps one of these days
