2 days PP - milk coming in?

Hi all,
I just had my 3rd baby 48 hours ago and my breasts are already starting to get engorged. Also DS spit up a bit after a feeding so I know he's getting milk (rather than colostrum). Could my milk really be coming in this soon? With my other two kids, milk didn't come in for at least 4 days.

Also, please share any tips for dealing with engorgement. I remember it being miserable!

yep, it's more common for the milk to come in faster with subsequent pregnancies.

tips for engorgement? nurse, nurse, nurse, nurse, nurse. don't pump at all unless it's hand expressing just to relieve the firmness so baby can latch on. don't expect to do much for a day or two other than nurse.

I'm sure the other mamas here will chime in with more engorgement ideas, but this question might have been better suited for the Breastfeeding forum!

With #2 my milk was in by 24 hrs- with #3 it was about 2-3 days- it had taken about 5 long days for #1. I have found the engorgement to be progressively better w/ each baby. I didn't feel the need to do much tis time, just being mindful of not to hit them on anything as they were sore.

With DD my milk was in after about 48 hours. I second the nurse, nurse, nurse. DD nursed about 45 minutes of every hour most of the time at the hospital after the c-section and little less after we got home, never had any problems with engorgement.

Yeah, I have had it come in as early as 24 hours for my sixth who nursed constantly from the moment of her birth. Just nurse and hand express as needed for comfort. That is what I always do. It usually levels off very quicky.

Yep, my milk came in also at 48 hours with my first. DD nursed like crazy but I still had major engorgement issues for 4-5 days. Then oversupply and OALD. I'm wondering how its going to be this time around.
