His new way to ask to nurse

My almost-2 year old son has found a new way to tell me he wants to nurse. First he leans towards my shirt, sticks his tongue out, and makes a slurping sound. Then he goes "Ahhh...." like the do in the soda commercials after taking a refreshing drink. Then he loudly smacks his lips a few times!

This doesn't seem very subtle to me and I wonder how many people realize what he wants. Yesterday he was doing it in the grocery store. Still, it's more subtle than sticking his arms down into my shirt and saying "whassat? whassat?" which is what he did before.

That is so cute!

Dh taught Ds to motorboat. Talk about unsuble! He also sticks his hand down my shirt and asks for boobs, which sounds more like "BOOOOOOOOOOOBS!!!" We're working on the manners.

what is to motorboat?

We call it num-nums, which usually comes out kind of "num-nah" so I don't think that's a giveaway. But she will put a hand up or down my shirt without any hesitation so then it's obvious :P. At 16 months, I'm not worried about it, but I do think about what other ways of asking I might be able to guide her toward in the future..

Such cute stories about all the ways they ask! DD has had a "milky dance" since she was about 9 months old.

My almost 2 yo (who recently started nursing again....) just walks over and highjacks my boob. Shirt up/bra down and there ya go. Drives me nuts sometimes fighting off his little creeping hands when I'm actually busy LOL

My 17-month-old just makes a nosedive for my chest while going "aaah! aaah! aaaahh!"
