anyone else left their baby with anyone else yet?

DH and I wanted to celebrate our child's birthday and go places with him that we couldn't take a 9 week old so my dad and stepmom offered to watch him this past Saturday. She did great! She was only with them for a total of 6.5 hours but she was fine. I called about 3x to check on her but I did enjoy the time with my older children and DH. We went to a movie, Christmas shopping for family and out to eat at a very nice restaurant. My parents wanted DD to stay all night but there's no way I'm ready for that and they understood.

The only thing I can't understand is why DD took two great naps for grandma and grandpa. She slept 2.5 hours for the first nap and 1.5 for her second nap. She never does that at home! I can only figure it was because it was a cloudy, rainy day and their house is super quiet.

Only once for about an hour when MIL was visiting. We went out for a quick breakfast alone!

We can't really leave her for too long because she doesn't take a bottle.

I've left Camry a few times- all for 2 hours or less. She'll take a bottle from Daddy and Grandma, so I don't have a panic attack thinking she's starving, but I really dislike leaving them when they're this young, so I make it a point not to unless it's really necessary (meetings/conferences at the big girls' school, Dr appointments for the big kids, etc)

I did. We went out to dinner with Nana and left him home with auntie. He didn't do too well with being calm/sleeping for her, but he ate just fine. He was bottle-fed at the time though.

I've only left her with her daddy for 2 hours. I'd leave her with my mom too if I had to, but dh and I are homebodies anyhow. I like to have her with me. We always mean to have my mom watch both of the girls, but never actually make it happen.

I've left her a few times - only with my Mom or Dh's mom. She doesn't nap very well for them, but they love her up the whole time. Just a couple hours at most though. The first time we did dinner and a movie, but that was too long - she was miserable! Now shorter times only. But we rarely have occassion. She's home with dh often - I don't think twice about that!

Ohhh you have given me hope and the courage I need. Maybe tomorrow I can go out by myself, around the block or something...I have no where to go, but it might be interesting to be alone for the first time in almost a year (counting pregnant months too lol).

DH and I have gone on two "dates" to dinner and a movie, and Ethan stayed with my mom at our house. Ethan did very well, probably since he's with my mom a ton; she's always over visiting or she goes with me when I take Ethan out. I'm a little nervous about tomorrow... DH and I both have training for work down in Indianapolis, so we have to leave Ethan for nearly 8 hours I'm sure he'll be fine, but I don't know if I will be!!

nak. can't bear the thought of leaving him w/ anyone but dh and even that has only happened about four times for a max of 1.5 hours. my in-laws visited and were here for our wedding anniv. but i just didn't feel comfortable leaving him. i'd just rather have him with me. . .or at least very nearby. dh did insist/request though that next year for our anniv. we have a proper date with a babysitter. i'm sure i will be happy with that too in another year!

last week i went and had acupuncture for the first time since Amiel was born. i was gone over an hour and was so anxious about leaving him. this was only the second time i have left him. the first time was on thanksgiving and we just ran to the store while he was with grandma. he was with daddy this time and did fabulously. it was great to get out and have him do so well, it did us both some good i think. when i came back baby was so "chatty" with me and i felt refreshed.

I've left him with daddy, grandma, and his 17 yo cousin. I work PT and I had to go to the dentist for a root canal. He's been great.
